Crane modernization with optimized grabber control
When modernizing this dockside crane in Hildesheim, Germany, Emotron concluded the project in only 14 days. The operator now disposes of an up-to-date crane which will be serviceable for another 15-20 years.
The solution was based on Emotron VFX variable speed drives and a unique four-wire grabber control. The results are optimized cycle times and minimized mechanical stress thanks to fully synchronized grabber movements.
Crane modernization reduced maintenance and increased user-friendliness
When the cranes at the Bleiloch power plant were modernized, Emotron VFX variable speed drives were installed for control. Maintenance was reduced and handling made easier, for example thanks to the unique Emotron electronic tracking system.
“The wheels are fully synchronized and the crane travels on the running rails without any sideways contact of the flanges,” says Lothar Sendzik, crane manager of Emotron. “The mechanical stress is minimized and maintenance costs are reduced.”
