Complete drive system for rotary heat exchangers

Emotron EMX-R is a complete drive system developed for rotary heat exchangers. It consists of a motor and an electronic controller. The drive system handles heat exchanger wheels with diameters up to 3.5 metres. Systems for rotors up to 5.5 metres are available on demand.

 

Integrated rotation sensor saves money
A unique integrated electronic rotation sensor eliminates the need for a mechanical sensor. An integrated motor cable makes installation easier. No adjustments or settings are required to get the drive system into operation.

 

Motor without gearbox increases efficiency
The robust motor works without gearbox or fan which results in fewer mechanical parts and thus reduced maintenance costs. Efficiency is considerably increased since all gear losses are eliminated.

 

Wide speed range for high efficiency
Emotron EMX-R offers full control over a wide speed range for maximum performance and efficiency. To prevent involuntary heat transfer, active holding torque can be activated to hold the rotor still.

An integrated linearisation function between control signal and rotor efficiency provides better conditions for stable temperature control. Direction of rotation and maximum speed are selectable.

 

Protection against damage
The system has extensive protection against short circuit, overloading etc. Built-in soft start and stop functionality reduces equipment wear. An integrated automatic purging operation ensures efficient function and reduces maintenance costs.
