Refinery

A refinery is a facility where raw materials are converted into some valuable substance by having impurities removed. This process involves pumps, fans, compressors and mixers working together to achieve the desired result.

The Emotron solution includes variable frequency drives that do precision control of the process parameters and softstarters that reduce electrical disturbances during start and stop. Robust Emotron machinery and a comprehensive service offer make sure that your production will run continuously and stay energy efficient.

Storage & Transport

Storage and transport of oil, gas and other chemicals play a crucial role in sustaining the global economy. Applications such as pumping facilities, loading gantries for filling road tankers or barges and inter-tank transfers require precise reliable control. Downtime is not an option for these facilities operating 24/7.

Reliable Emotron VFDs operate the pumps and fans under these demanding circumstances. A wide variety of communication options allow Emotron VFDs to be controlled by Master Controllers. The industry leading efficiency of the Emotron AFE drives ensures low harmonics and low energy losses.

A large international storage company in the port of Rotterdam use robust variable frequency drives (VFDs) from Emotron to operate the pumps that distribute oil from and to each tank location.

When used for sludge dryer cells, IP54 FDU frequency drives are highly regarded for the savings they deliver in terms of operating and fuel cost. Emotron VFDs are used to make sure the sludge is dried and (bio)gas and organic granulate is extracted.

Biogas

Biogas is a renewable energy source that is produced by the breakdown of organic matter such as food scraps and animal waste, sewage etc. in dedicated facilities.

Emotron variable frequency drives control the conveyors and air blowers in these plants to maximise the extraction of biogas. The built in PID control helps maintain process parameters. Coated boards extend the lifetime of the drive operating in a harsh chemical environment.

Chemical

Processing raw materials into industrial chemicals requires robust and reliable variable frequency drives with precision control. Emotron IP54 VFDs in a metal casing with coated boards and state-of-the art cooling are ideal for the challenging environments of the chemical industry. We offer direct torque control and smart modular design for higher powers – operating thousands of applications such as chemical dosing & cooling pumps, cooling fans, mixers, extruders, conveyors and compressors.

Other applications within the chemical industry may not require speed control. For this, our TSA softstarter with superior soft torque start/stop and vector brake feature combined with advanced motor protection is the perfect option.

As our FDU/VFX drives, our TSA softstarter also has the ability to program up to 4 parameter sets to control and optimize changes in a single process such as change of load or viscosity of a product.
